Bound By Prayer

Bound by Prayer”
A ministry of Bethel Baptist Church
Colossians 2:2a “That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love…”

Our mission is to demonstrate the love of Christ in the midst of great heartache to both the patient and their families.  Our responsibility is not just to create a gift but to bind each gift with prayer for that person who will be receiving it.  It is our hearts desire to reach beyond the gift and demonstrate the love of Christ through the family of Bethel Baptist Church and point them to a Savior who is both a Healer and a Comforter.

It is the desire of this ministry to start our focus on the church family of Bethel, their families and folks in the Johnson County area.  We want to be able to visit them and minister to them as much as possible.  As the ministry grows, so will our outreach.

This ministry will stand upon four pillars.

  1. Study – II Timothy 3:16-17.  Each week you will be given the opportunity to gather together with other ladies as you create these shawls/lap throws.  During this time you will have an opportunity to share and study God’s Word.
  2. Service – I Peter 4:10.  We as women need opportunities to serve others.  This builds unity, encourages growth and develops relationships.  This entire ministry is about serving others.
  3. Support – Ecclesiastes 4:10.  It is important to get connected to other Godly women to find Biblically-sound support.  This is an opportunity to encourage one another to stand strong in the faith.
  4. Social – Hebrews 10:25.  This is a great opportunity for Christian friendships to form and mature.

Jesus demonstrated throughout His ministry the joy of serving others.  As you create each shawl/lap throw, it is my prayer that you too will understand the joy of serving others as you take the pain and heartache of so many to the very throne of God in prayer.  May this ministry strengthen your prayer life, your Christian friendships, and the opportunity to see people turn their lives over to our precious Lord and Savior.
